| I had a CE-3 for some time, traded it towards an RV-3 at a pawn shop a while back, and have kind of got the itch for a chorus pedal again. I'd like to get a CE-2, but I haven't been able to find any locally and the prices on eBay haven't been too friendly lately. As luck would have it, the same CE-3 I traded to the pawnshop is now at the music shop across the street. Everyone speaks very highly of the CE-2, but just how different are the two pedals aside from the stereo outs in the CE-3? If the differences are subtle I'll take the easy route and (re)buy the CE-3 from the local store. What do you think? |

Hi marqueemoon I believe that the CE-3 & the CE-2 are the same circuit Although the CE-3 has some extra circuitry & a switch for the stereo outs.
In a Stereo setup, the CE-3, is how the CE-3 really shines. In mono mode, it is a bit subtler that the CE-2
It's hard for me to not be biased, I love all my CE-2's And one CE-3 & all my other collection of choruses.
If you are after some real nice chorus, don't look past the Arion SCH-1 chorus, I know they also have a reissue SCH-Z, but I have been informed that the latter is not as good, but I have never heard a SCH-Z
The Arion pedals come in a cheap plastic case, with a plastic battery clip, that comes in three flavors, Intact - Missing - Broken in half.
Still it's a really wonderful pedal, VERY LUSH, & it has a Tone Control, which really works.
In my opinion, if you go & buy your CE-3 back, you won't be disappointed, it's like finding a long lost friend.
Remember to set it up in stereo mode, with two amps. Tell us what you end up doing?
Regards Dr. Bob |
