OK gearheads... I'm sure this is more than likely possible, but how much of a pain in the a** (PITA) is it gonna be. Do the ends justify the means? Thanks for input.

One jack and two wires (no wait, it's only one wire!) 30 minutes tops - most of that to measure and drill the hole for the jack.
If you would like "explicit" instructions, I'll have a look at the schematic and my od-2 tonight |

Damn... Thanks Laurie (you're right - thanks for the catch) it's been edited. 41 years old & still haven't mastered the alphabet, fuggin' pathetic. Looks like I have you calling it an "OS" as well. God I'm one corruptive bastard. Not necessary just yet, but I may call you out at a later date if that's cool. Thanks for the insight for an easy conversion though. Once again "you" are my BossArea Member of the Day. No flaming hamsters launched in your general direction! Thanks again, T-D
HAHA - you were editing as I was |

Just had a look at the schematic...
Easy mod is to buy a jack like the standard Boss ones (specifically with metal-to-metal contact between the "sleeve" on the jack and the pedal case) and drill a hole in the side of the pedal. Connect the "tip" connector of the jack to pin 13 on the PCB and leave the turbo switch in the "off" position. Closing the contact on the footswitch plugged into the jack will activate turbo.
The mod above *might* have hum problems. The no-hum solution is to us a fully insulated 1/4 inch jack and a piece of shielded cable - connect the shield to pin 9 on the PCB and the "sleeve" of the jack. Connect the signal wire to pin 13 on the PCB and the "tip" on the jack. Make sure your foot-switch has shielded cable and away you go.

Hi Laurie
Nice post. Did you get the Schematic for the OD-2r, or did you extrapolate from the OD-2 schematic?
I guess the part that was a real bitch, ahh sorry challenge , was finding the right spot on the side of the metal case, to drill & fit the "Remote" socket.
Regards Dr. Bob
PS: Don't let anyone else know, but I've also been quietly collecting & hoarding older OD-2's. They are one of the few all discrete (no IC's or Op-amps) pedals that Boss ever made, and they have FET differential stages. I don't know of many pedals that ever used that circuit topology. I could go on & on, but someone might find out. SHhhhh, Mums the word
