| Wow! At that price, the business of fabricating and selling the covers begins to make sense. I wish I had a model to use as a prototype, but my only DOD pedal (FX72) came without a battery cover. |

| What's really ironic about DOD battery covers is that they actually made two different covers -- one for the older pedals and one for the newer pedals. Both versions fall off. You would think they would have fixed the problem the second time through! |

| that's outrageous, Laurie... I'm pretty sure they were less than a dollar each earlier in this decade. maybe some dumbass raised the price, knowing that they weren't made any more, but I digress. good luck finding them at a better price.... |

I am going to begin fabricating boutique battery compartment covers! Perhaps I will offer them in different versions... from sheet metal to copper to stainless. Thank you all for the inspiration.
I've had that idea before, but my business plan included battery covers for TV clickers as well. Expand your horizons.
Hmmm... I just took in a DOD FX25B envelope filter oin a trade for a modded DS-1 I wasn't using. Since it's just a "keep it in the junk drawer for fooling around with" pedal, you guys have me wondering if I can make do with out the battery door.

Hi CaBaGu
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
I believe that there are at least 2 or 3 variations of the DOD covers. I have seen at least 2.

Hi CaBaGu and welcome!!
Heck... that's an offer too good to refuse. What do you think the cost would be? |

| If someone wants to be the guinea pig I'll do the first one for free just to get the mold right and see what the materials run per copy. Then I can do it for cost if the volume is low. At this point, I can't imagine it would take a dollar's worth of casting resin. Word of caution - They would have to be painted, unless I can source black casting resin. Ther's also ther matter of "can we improve the design so that it looks original but frickin' stays on...first things first. |

The early style comes off, the later style has a thin wire hinge that stops the cover coming off.
The later style fits both early and late pedals just fine - so if that was the one cloned, life would be good. |

| Well, if we can find an original to make a pattern, let me know, we'll have our first clone the next day and I can slap it on my FX56 and see how it holds up. |
