Hi painkiller822
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
Great story, especially that it was in such great condition. Does it have a black or silver metal screw on the battery hatch?
I once found a couple of Yamaha Effector pedals (Pre any Boss pedals era) at the recovery centre at a local Dump.
Can I ask what you paid for it, or do you mean you literally found it, while dumping other rubbish?
It saddens me to wonder, how many other pedals & Old Valve amps, have become landfill....
Regards Dr. Bob

Hi painkiller82 and welcome to the forum.
Finding a mint condition pedal at a dump sounds almost too good to be true. Like Right Foot Boss said, you're probably looking at around $100. Of course you shouldn't sell it at all. It's a brilliant little piece of gear and if you sell it you will probably regret it. |

There's quite a difference between a 1981 DS-1 and a currently produced pedal.. although BOSS maintains that they're identical! |

| Dr Bob I found the pedal when I was taking garbage out one day and it was lying on a Garnet amp (Which is a tube amp from the 70s, not manufactured anymore). Right at the edge of the landfill. And the pedal has a black screw |

Hi I hope & pray you took the Garnet Tube amp as well...
Pics of that old amp would be great, if you could upload some.
Here are some of my links: http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/garnetAmps.html http://www.garnetamps.com/
And if you do an IMAGE Search in Google, you can find some of the old Schematics.

Congrats and welcome to the forum.... one of my mates delivers and collects builders skips from house renovations etc.....he has found a lot of stuff over the years even a bass and small amp, there is still a lot of people out there that wouldn't realise what an old valve amp is unless it had fender or marshall on the front of it...or an effect pedal unless it had boss.... makes like garnet, burman, selmer etc.... might slip throught the cracks so it is worthwhile slowing down an having a quick look on the way past..... ..another mate also found a shergold guitar years ago and one of my favourites is one i read about a guy who saw a Vox AC-30 being thrown into a skip one time and stopped the car to run out to get it,another guy ran for it at the same time, the first bloke grabbed the amp and the second one grabbed the footswitch hanging out of the back,a bout of verbals ensued with the guy going home with the AC-30 minus the footswitch..!!!!... ........ |

Kinda scary to speculate on what doesn't get picked up. How many VB-2s and DM 2s, nice old amps, rack stuff etc have gone to landfill???!! |
