Hi all, I'm a long term pedal builder and player, but I own my fair share of Boss stompers.
Personal favorite and my vote for future classic? The od2. Didn't care for it that much at first, until one day I recorded it with a different guitar from my usual. Heard a whole other dimention to it. Definitely my vote for future classic...
I've really enjoyed reading around here. Learned a thing or two.
What are your picks as sleepers/future classics?
Cheers, Austen

My favorite has to be the OD-1 for me. Much for sentimental reasons (it was my first Boss pedal) but also because it's a very good overdrive.
Future classic: HM-3, there aren't as many of them as there are HM-2s or MT-2s and it has more gain than both the others. |

I agree on the HM-3. But also keep an eye on the MZ-2 - not many of those around these days.. Ive seen more SG-1's than MZ-2's lately.
I cannot comment on the sound of the MZ-2 as I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet

| I agree on the MZ-2 all the way. Not that I think it's a great pedal, but I agree it will become rather sought after. |

od-1..long pin..yellow, last seen on my pedalboard..suspect is responsible for completely altering the tone of my setup to resemble if not totally mimic the tone of albert king. The tone can only be described by svengali as swampy..full of bite. Suspect is dangerously expensive already and has possibly already reached the status of classic.

Hmmm, sounds like I'll be getting OD's 1 and 2 for sure. I just ebayed myself an SD 1 so I'll have quite the collection of puke yellow pedals!!
I used to have an MZ. Not sorry I sold it due to it's extrordinary Fizzy and fake sound. Just so early nineties, yah.
I assume the T wah is on the way up too.
I think this very website will be creating/influencing collecters every day. |

man... you would want to be smoking crack to pay that !!! i have one belonging to the drummer i can use anytime, its not the best distortion boss ever produced.........anyway gilmour is gilmour he does his own thing i do mine,i love his sound and songwriting the mans a genius.. but does he still even use this pedal, all guitarists go through spells of change,he is more of a big muff/fuzzface sound than a mz2 sort of person........in fact i think pete cornish builds most of his stuff now.... |
