Hello Friends.
Uff...I want to explain many things but my English is bad, Sorry. (I do not study very much in the school, I was play the guitar...je,je)

In the BossArea labels exist the Made in Japan Type 4 and 5:

IS OK.
I have the same in two HM-2 but Made in Taiwan:

In the BossArea only have the type 11 same of right side.(One is 72mm. and other is 78mm.) (Is Type 10 but in Black?...New type 10B? but in the label no apears FCC rules)(is 11B?).
I think that is a new Type 11. And others to increase a number, we would have 19 Type Labels.

The label of left side is one HM-2 serial number 093434, The year of pedal is 1987.

I discovered another white label in the Battery compartment. This white label is the dealer of Boss in Spain, Roland Iberica. I have more white paper labels in my pedals and boxes and is the same year of the BossArea Serial Number Decoder and first numbers of white label.

My HM-2 serial 093434 in the BossArea serial number decoder is the 1981 year but, the first year of sale the HM-2 is dated in 1983 year.

The box photo of the Limiter is my LM-2 serial Japan 784400 in the serial number decoder, dated in May 1987 in the box the white label is 087. The same occurs in the EV-10.

Well, another label type is the PSM-5 label.
In the BossArea exist the Type 6 and 6B but I have more PSM-5 labels:

http://www.telefonica.net/web2/collectio/Fotos/PSM-5/psm-5.htm

Is correct name Type 6C, 6D, etc.? maybe moore...

Let me Know abaut this... Thank... and sorry for the big Topic.

Thanks vicix, you're perfectly right. The "short" black Taiwan label is missing from the label page.
You got one of the first Taiwan produced HM-2s. My theory on these numbers are that when production was first moved to Taiwan, they decided to restart the serial numbering. The new system was not in place so they started from 000000. This completely screwed up the dating. Not sure if they waited till the new system was in place 1989 before they abandoned the new counting. These serial numbers are usually found on DS-1s. I haven't seen it on an HM-2 before now.

That's just a theory though

I thought I only missed one PSM-5 label but it looks like there's 2 more. Do you mind if I add your pictures to the label page?

Hi Vicix, I took liberty of snooping around on your site.
Cool stuff you got, is that all yours?

It almost looks like a Spanish version of Bossarea.com

Hi vicix

Nice site, & a nice clean layout.

Just to go off topic for a second.

Any chance I/we can get a copy/scan of the PSM-2 & VB-2 service notes.
that are displayed on your site, on this link?
Do you have any other original service notes?
The ones on the web are not very good.

http://www.telefonica.net/web2/collectio/otros/otros.htm

And thanks for your kind comment about the Bossarea, on your homepage:
Muchas gracias a BOSSAREA por su infinita informacin sobre estos pedales.

Regards Dr. Bob

Of course BossArea, you add my pictures in your label page.

And Dr.Bob I have holidays because is greater festival in my city (anniversary of the town, near Barcelona).

They do many activities typical in Catalonia and concerts, I do not have a lot of free time, after a week I tried to scan the service notes. This picture is a human tower with ten flat typical in my town, my brother rises up in the five floor!!!.(I prefer play the guitar). Sure that it not seen before.
Thank.

Download Attachment: xt-2 label.jpg
88.24KB

I think I may have a 14B label for you.
I just got my 2nd XT-2 in the mail today and noticed the label doesn't match my other one.
It is missing the 'Dry battery 9V type' text.
Also, it is missing the serial number which may have been removed by a previous owner...

Side note - both of my XT-2 (used) came without the gromet in the battery compartment.
I realize it could of been swiped out and placed in another pedal but ARGHH!

ive been looking at the boss book, and ive noticed that they say the 'boss dc 9v' backing plate ( instead of ' boss ac adaptor ' ) comes from a later period- a period other than the first.
however, i can help but notice that in fact, that backing plate appears on every single first run pedal.
if it the case that im wrong, then ive had the back panels swapped on about six or so of my pedals.
i also note that the same information appearas in bossarea somewhere.
I currently have a bad case of the flu.
Am i delirious?

regards
