I had one for a few days. It can easily replicate the Zakk Wylde sound. I'm not into that so I sold it. But, if that's what you like it actually was quite flexible as far as EQ shape. If you need constant all the time distortion with lots of harmonics, I would recommend over most pedals of that flavor.
It was actually very quiet on high gain settings. Also, when the note fades, the distortion doesn't. Your signal stays saturated with gain as the signal decays, so it's cool if that's your thing.
Can you turn down the gain and hear a clean guitar or use as a clean boost? NO! Otherwise it does what it says.
Y'know, I can't really make that call. I guess the closest to it would be something like a XT-2 or MT-2, but I just haven't spent enough time on any of them to give you a better review.
When you think of the Zombie pedal, think "White Zombie" not "Psychedelic 60's Cinema" zombie, know what I mean?
