FRANZONI & I seem to be talking alot off & online about the H&K Rotosphere and some HQ replacements. FRANZONI recently picked up a Dynacord.
Anyone had great sucess with a Leslie sim that has owned a Roto and can compare the sound?
I have 2 rotos (it's documented somewhere on these boards how I got the 2nd one ) and from what I have heard of any other pedals, nothing has come close.
I'd love to get something smaller that is just as good and a little more reliable but I just don't think it's out there yet.
With all of these DIY-ers reverse engineering classic pedals, I wonder why someone hasnt built a better mousetrap. I asked Mike from Analog Man to do something like that but he never got back to me..
Anyway, everyone's always talking about the iPod killer but how about a Rotosphere killer.
heh heh.... we will have to stop meeting like this.....yeah i only got the dynacord today..i've been messing with it on and off all day and the only experience before this with rotary sims was the simulation in the pod xt pro..i put the dynacord through the stereo effects loop of the pod and compared both and it blows the pods version out of the water...the fast speed nails the 'cold shot' sound to my ears..and it has that sort of warm round sound you hear on a old hammond organ...the slow speed to me in more like a uni vibe than the chorus sound you described to me the rotosphere produces zesty....now i've been having a love/hate relationship with the pod for live stuff but i put all the amp sims in tube preamp mode with no cab simulation and with the stereo chorus in the pod with the dynacord in slow speed with a bit of delay added i can get the gilmour sound off the last pink floyd live album.... i have never had a real leslie to compare it too..but for the moment this unit is rockin'.......there is only one small thing ..every now and again you can here a little clicking noise from the dynacord but it goes away after a few seconds or if you turn it off and back on ...it's an analog unit so i'm thinking it's one of the BBD chips.....any of our more technically minded brethren care to shed some light on this problem and any easy fixes......thanks....
zestystrat...did you ever check out the retro sonic pedal in the end...??......
