So what ?? We're a community of pedal lovers, here, so why not share the other great acqusitions we do ?
I just made a great deal. 22 shipped for a mint Dod FX55-B. And I mean mint. The box is the only thing to show any sign of use. The pedal is just like no one ever touched it, there are all the papers, and even the plastic bag...
I like Dod pedals. They go for nothing, and they're either crapy or really good. The FX55-B is one of the goods... |

I'm with you on liking DOD, I've been after an American Metal passively for a while now, you can pick them up really cheap and they're really the only company that did loads of really weird distortions and stuff. |

Hi Basstyra Congratulations.....
I managed to snaffle a DOD FX55-C Supra Distortion, for about $26AU, back in mid 2006. It's in almost new condition, but no box or manual.
I wonder what the difference, between the (B) & the (C), versions is. I find it has quite a unique sound. it the case still a Fire Engine Red?
If you can, try to get the DOD DFX9 digital delay pedal, they don't come up very often, it was recommended to me buy a pro muso friend. It comes in a fantastic metallic midnight blue, almost a purple.
I managed to get my first DD-2, 2 days ago , I still have to pick it up, I am looking forward to doing a comparison with the DFX9.
Regards Dr. Bob

Yeah, you have to either love or hate each diff DOD pedal. I personally hate the Supra Distortion series, but believe they've got potential to be tweaked. I have a Meat Box, and I love that one. The Grunge pedal was the first pedal I think I ever owned, man does that thing have a certain sound. It's good for instant feedbacking too if you crank the "Grunge" option up. I have a Flashback Fuzz by them, and I think that nails the Weezer sound, if you're ever looking for that. I also have a Mystic Blues Overdrive that I'm rather fond of. I hated their EQ and Compressors though.

tomwest... i had an american metal pedal for a present when they came out first and to be honest bro from what i can remember i got rid of it fairly quick,it didn't really do anything for me...but i was using one of the old session combo's at the time so it wasn't the best amp to judge it...i had a few dod pedals back then(boss was too expensive...!!!)i was fond of the stereo chorus and the overdrive plus,i also had a digitech(same company)digital delay it was a twin pedal,i think it was the 2002,i remember it was pretty good the only thing was they turned on and off too easily and were a bit noisy...a lot of hiss in your effects chain(i've never been into noisegates....etc)...... |

| a friend lent me an FX52 Classic Fuzz a couple of years ago which I ended up trading for a bass... I hated it, but I'm sure I'd find an use for it now... I hated my HM-2 a while ago, and now I'd like to have one in my chain, things change... What do you use your Classic Fuzz for? |

Polvo used one for lo-fi fuzz and micro-synth type sounds, I'm kindof in a deal with one on Harmony Central but I dunno $35 to the UK is good, but I just got a Big Muff which does the same thing . |

| Bob : I allready have A FX90 Delay, the analogic one. It's just wonderful. I almost prefer it to my DM-3. It's really smooth, no matter how you set it. |

my favorite DOD pedals are probably the FX52 Classic Fuzz (thick, beefy 'Big Muff'-esque distortion) and the FX58 Metal Maniac (its distortion is somewhat tame relative to the later FX69 and FX86, but it sounds good, and its nuclear yellow casing was a nice touch).
and one day I'd like to have a FX33 Buzz Box, just in case I ever end up with hair like King Buzzo:

There was an interview of him once talking about his Buzz Box, saying 'Yeah DOD gave me a Buzz Box, but I broke it and I'm not gonna go and buy my own box.' He uses a ProCo Rat2 and a Blue Box (Buzz Box with less parameters essentially) these days. |

Hi Dungus All I can say is, for me the Mystic blues Overdrive, is the sound that I have been searching for, for many years.
With mt Old fender 75 amp, it's just the right combination or clean & overdrive. It might be my failing hearing, but I can't seem to get the tone that it produces, on any other pedal that I have, no matter which of the brands, that I have.
My DOD FX55-C Supra distortion is a fizzy & trebley sort of tone, but it fits into the mix, on some stuff I have to play, when I do Cameo's with other bands.
let me know if you ever want to sell your Mystic Blues Overdrive, I am looking for a backup on.

I was using it for guitar and playing some Monster Magnet-ish psychedelic rock metal at the time. I haven't used it much lately, but its kind of got a unique fuzz sound. I've built Big Muff, Fuzz Face, and a Tonebender clone, but none really seem to sound like an FX52, so I'm not sure what its modelled after.
Lately however, when it comes to fuzz, I use this...
Which, I am very proud to say, I desgined the layout and built myself from a BYOC kit, and its based off the 70's triangle-era Big Muff....and hopefully this moves into the next round of the BYOC 3rd Annual Pedal Pageant...BTW- My first name is Tee, Jack is my middle name, so Tee-Lectronics is the name of my pedal "company". |

Hi jack Nice job ...
what did you use to print-make the front panel artwork. Is it on laminated paper or on aluminium foil?
Any sound samples, anywhere on the web?
