Hi there denizens of New York, I will most likely be passing through your city later this year. I have not been before...

There have absolutely got to be some decent guitar shops in NYC right?

If anyone has suggestions of good places to buy Fender (vintage and/or new Tele) and Ibanez (I'm looking specifically for a 7 or 8 stringer) guitars... please let me know

Also if you know of any cool clubs/venues where I might be able to catch a few live bands (folk/pop/rock/indie/metal) please let me know about those also!

Cheers

Zerks: Thanks mate, I will check those out.

Laurie: D'oh! Perhaps I should have done some sort of search. Cheers

It was really interesting to visit those stores. No bargains though... it all varied from "right priced" to "crazy" (e.g. US$70 for an MT-2 with a pot shaft broken off).
