Hello everybody!

I've just purchased an old vingat MXR Stereo Chorus; yellow one, 3 knobs version. After playing with it for a while i noticed that "MANUAL" knob doesn't produce any remarkable effect when turned.

Does anybody know what is this knob for?

Thank you very much.

Hi. You'll find "Manual" knobs on various flanger and chorus pedals. What they do is to change the mid point of the pedal's sweep, so that the effect can be concentrated on certain frequencies.

To hear what the manual knob really does, turn speed and depth down to the minimum, and then turn the manual control from left to right. You should hear a distinct change in the tone of the effect.

This works best with Flanger pedals, btw - it's quite subtle with chorus.
