It's going to sell for around 270 (UKP) over here...the ME-50 can now be had for around 145 if you shop around. I can pick up a brand new GT-10 for around 320, not a huge difference in price. I'd probably buy one of those instead of an ME-70 given there's not much in it cost-wise.
By the way zerksies, your avatar is cool but...it's bugging me as to what it is. Where I've seen that before? I am sure it's from a music video back in the late 90s but cannot remember who! Please put me out of my misery and tell me |

How do you connect these ME series units? into the front of an amp(s)? and if so how do the mod/delay effects sound? This looks pretty sweet, and of course I have to hear about it the day after I buy a GT-5...I'm out of the "loop" i guess you could say. ha....ha....ha |

Thanks for that jaymzHal! My memory isn't what it used to be. It was a hit in 1999 so my recollection that it was late 90's was right. |

I run my ME-50 straight into the clean channel of my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp. There is no option to do things like the 4 cable method like you can do with the GT- series (thankfully...it all looks rather complex!). The ME-50 time-based effects that would usually go the in the FX loop if using stompboxes - delays, tremolo, flanger, chorus, etc - all sound great to my ears. |

kudos to:
1. preamp models 2. uber extreme EQ section (preamp) 3. additional 1 pedal 4. comp/twah/slowgear added... 5. delay on the modulation mod (which means you can do now multi-tap delays combining different time with the delay module say 250ms(mod) and 500ms(delay) or so) 6. octave function on mod... 7. intelligent harmonizer! cool! 8. modulation delay! 9. delay mix on exp pedal 10 mod rate on exp pedal 11. black casing and overall look! 12. phrase looper! 38 $*ck seconds! ___
minus points to:
1. preamp cant be bypased in MANUAL mode (no footswitch to bypass it, say you set it to R-Fier and want it to be off in MANUAL mode, im not sure though im just saying it based on demos and specs...)
2. less reverb types, specilally the MOD REVERB which is really great on the ME-50)
3. the OD section was cut short (in me 50 there were at least 20, im thinking to accomodate the new COSM preamp section) plus bummer is there is no LOW and HIGH controls on this section just the TONE...there are ways to get around this but still i find having high and low controls more versatile in a drive module... ___
conclusion:
hmmm powering this to turn ON is by connecting a jack/cord to the GUITAR in? i like the me-50 with the on/off switch but this can be plus for those who use batteries (to preserve)...no biggie...
they have been advertising the VOICE effect as a new fx? the ME-50 has that too! =)
overall, i still think its a great GREAT update from the ME-50...
im thinking thay have updated the LAG when switching presets in BANK mode....
plus the color scheme is great! much better than the GT-10 i think!
plus the knobs! the knobs! more knobs!
im looking forward to get this! and update from my ME-50!
COOL!

jam_nineworkz, that's a really useful pros and cons summary you've listed there. I have to say, I don't like the lack of tone controls or the lack of a power on/off switch either. Not at all. The jury is still out on this one until I've heard it...for now I shall just be content with my ME-50 |

| Completly off topic but: which guitar does Robert Marcello use when he demonstrates the uni-v setting in the boss video? |
