was curious if anyone had experiences with both and could contrast the differences.

seems like it will be hard to track down a japanese DS-2 so considering the alternative MIT that would be easy.

There is two for sale here local for 50 euro each.. the DS-2 was my first boss pedal and i swapped it when trading for a session amp, many moons ago( over 18 years ago...)..... a lesson i learned quickly was not to trade or sell if you don't have too.... i can't really remember what it sounded like but it couldn't of been too bad as the other guitar player in the band was always looking for a lend of it and my Dod overdrive plus.....

I only have an MIT. I too would be interested to hear what the difference is - the MIT version leaves me a bit unsatisfied - is the MIJ version smoother/more body?

I'm about to replace one of the pots in the Ds-2 ... I'll do the electro capacitor swap and see what else makes sense to upgrade when i do it. Might sort it out a bit.

my friend had an MIJ back in 94-96. it's been a long while and i remember it but barely and none of us had tube amps back then nor nice guitars.

i remember it being thin, buzzy, and unsatisfying but with my rig now it usually thickens anything up.
