I've taken off a couple pedals I dont use anymore off my board. I have the 6" patch cables used to connect pedals together. No problem. But the way I have a couple of them set up with my ls-2 and the way my pedalboard input/output jacks are I need 3 cables about 18-20 inches long. I found some that seemed like a custom order and 3 of them were $40. Right now I have these massive 8 footcables tied up in these 3 locations and It looks like crap! No problems setup wise, but it bugs me. Anybody know a cheaper place or alternative?
I thought of that option. But I dont know where to look. I remember somebody on here said they used a really good DIY cable, but I dont remember the brand. Can you point me in the right direction?
There are "varying opinions" on cable, with a lot of discussion about tone loss and general "mojo", but I've been making and using cables in PA systems and guitar rigs for years and never had any trouble with a few simple rules: 1) Buy good cable - see the thread above 2) Buy good connectors. Skimp on these and you will have endless problems. Over the years I've come to rust Neutrik - both the European manufactured ones and the Chinese ones. 3) Do good, clean solder joints without overheating the plug or cable.
