Yeah.... "lauries2" is a generic login I use. It was starting to feel a bit weird being called "lauries2" when I'm getting to know people here so well... Easier if it's just plain old "Laurie"

Back on topic... I did buy all the parts to do the mod except for the pots (figuring them out this week). Had to choke down the cost of the 22uF tantalum capacitors - $4 each.

Anyway, once I get this laptop thing sorted in a few days, I'll get onto it.

My intent is to make some recording before the mod and after the mod then find somewhere to post them... maybe youtube if I can get the video worked out.

And so it goes... Are we (old and young) fix-er-uppers the last of an era?

Nah, with the advent of the internet, more people can get into it as a hobby
Easier than pouring over thick dry manuals and through back issues of electronic mags from the '80s

To answer your question, young at heart

Tants are always pretty pricy, but I think its due to they do not degrade (or if they do, not as much) as electrolytic caps do over time. For those of yo who don't know, electrolytic caps sort of have a shelf-life, and after time, they may "leak" charges a bit potentially causing ripple and altering sound and performance.

I've just been trying out my SD-1 before getting started on the love-pedal mod. I've realised why I never use it - the level out is terrible. I had to put a line-driver after it to get enough push. Didn't sound bad, but a bit too much noise/hum.

Specifically, to get the same level out as the un-effected signal (pedal off) the level pot is at 10 - I can't get a level increase out of the pedal. From other threads I think this is normal?

Anyway, love-pedal mod happens this week. I have some 50k log pots coming and they will do in place of the 100k called for in the design.

i had this problem with several taiwan SD-1's if i used it with anything except single coils. any humbuckers tended to lose volume.

my newly acquired MIJ SD-1 boosts pretty well.

Finally got the mod done. Don't have the pots yet so haven't heard it, but this is what it looks like. I didn't have 0.15uF caps for C4 and C5, so I put a 0.1 + 0.047 in parallel. R30 is changed because I swapped the RED LED for a high intensity white one and the current needs to be dropped.

Interestingly that's not in the instructions... I did wonder though as it's a departure from the schematic. Off with it's head! Thanks for picking that up!

I've also socketed the chip and so will be able to try the original 4558DD, a new RC4558, TL022, and TL072. Will try to get sound clips, but no promises.

C6 is a band pass filter that you mostly see on the SD1 and OD1.
Its not present in the TS pedals. If you remove it, its like taking a blanket out of your pedal, basically it limits the headroom.

good luck

THanks Christo! Pots should be here from Small Bear next week - looking forward to see how it sounds! I really like the tone of the actual eternity pedal (as seen on youtube).

Hi Guys

Here is another one:
A Lot more chilled out, Where the guys tests out 3 versions of the Lovepedal.

IMHO, and on this track, I prefer the sound of the first demo, on the
Woodrow.
What do you guys think?

He tests them in this order,
which is reverse to the order, of how they are lined up in the picture/video.
1. Woodrow 2. Lo Driver 2. Eternity.

Anyone seen schematics of these pedals?

Regards Dr. Bob

Noticed in the Lovepedal schems, that R4 is a 1M resistor, but its not referenced in the mod by Indy. It would give the input a boost.
