There's an Amdek catalogue in there that I've never seen before.

What a collection...I wonder how many times this person has heard from a parent, friend, relative, or loved one,"This catalog is _____ years old, do you really need to keep it?"

I know I kept hearing that for years and in the end all my catalogues and brochures was thrown away. One of them was the Roland 1984 brochure found on this site. It was good to see it again

Someone please explain to me what (a) a school bus, (b) the Apollo lunar ascent module, and (c) an apparently very hungry large black cat have to do with musical instruments...

/wonders if we'll ever see used Boss pedals in vending machines

I'm just guessing, but the school bus means that well-educated and smart people play the instruments, don't you want to be like them?

The lunar module symbolizes how you can be with the stars using these instruments.

The large black cat means that your rock n' roll animal will be unleashed.

I seriously don't know though, but then again, in Japan, does it have to make sense? Have you ever seen any clips from Japanese game shows? None of them ever really make any sense. That sh!t is crazy...

Nice one Bossarea.
If you look at the Yamaha Effectors (effect pedals),

I have slowly collect four pedals from that series,
Flanger - Octaver - Chorus & Distortion, and in that order

I managed to rescue the Flanger & Octaver from going into land fill
at a garbage tip one afternoon, while I was dumping some rubble from a renovation I had completed.

They must have been once fitted to the Yamaha pedal board, as they both had their battery covers removed & missing, as well as the plastic that covers the special 5 pin header plug to connect the pedals into the pedal board.

I remember once seeing the Yamaha pedal board & it's strange connections.

The Chorus & Distortion were purchased on ebay.
All the pedals work fine, and are in better than you would expect condition for 1980.
The Chorus being the pedal with the most cosmetic (paint missing) damage.
The sound of the Distortion pedal is something else, smooth at low settings & massive almost impossible to control overtones, at higher settings; Makes you almost feel young again.

Nice to feel & own a bit of history, and to see someone else saved the booklets from that era.
Now, if I could only read what is written on them.

There's a number of old Japanese effects and some of them have lately become very collectable. The Pearl effects have gone up a lot while some others like Yamaha can still be had at reasonable prices.

I've been tempted to dip in and sample a few of these myself but I'm afraid that if I buy one I wouldn't be able to stop.
