Having the same problem on some of my older pedals (PH1, HM2 & SD1) where the LED is weak when powered on a boss 9v power supply but bright on batteries. It also adversely affects the tone of the pedal too.

I have tried replacing the zener diode at the LED, dioode at the +ve & -ve side of the adaptor, the 100uF capacitor but nothing works.

Hope that someone can advise what is the problem. Thanks..

Try searching for infos about ACA/PSA power supply on Boss pedals...

(I mean, SEARCH for infos, your problem is that your old pedals are ACA, not supposed to be powered from 9v wallwart).

As most of you know you can use a PSA with older ACA-type wall warts IF one of the pedals in the chain is designed for PSA wall wart.
