Has anyone of you here tried sampling Electronic Beats with the DD6?
The pedal is great for that application since you do not loose all the much quality when you overdub your beats.

The downer may be that you have no individual level control over your layered samples, so check your levels out in advance. You really need to think ahead here!!

Compared to sampling guitar it seems that with beats there is hardly any qualityloss of your sound, I guess guitar -or bass or other soundsources- may eat up too many frequencies, so after two layers things just get a little dense and unclear.

I have sampled beats from an old analogue drumsyth. and by putting the sounds in the DD6 I can actually create a pattern and use this in any kind of recording.

I guess "serious" electonic musicians will have samplers around, so the DD6 would be very limited for them, still it is a killer pedal for lots and lots of different applications.

Good question. I see what you're trying to acheive with your DD-6. I have sampled with my RC-20xl. What you talk about is the very reason I don't like the RC-2: No Loop Level control.

I got my RC-20XL for $199 NIB so it's really worth the extra $20 to me versus a RC-2.

No levelcontrol for individual loops, but just an overal volumecontrol, which may be limited.

Anyhow, before I put a sound into the DD6 it first goes through some other effects and I do think in advance of what I want to put into the DD6, and with that, I am careful with the indidiual volumelevel of each sample.

Working like this may take time, so does recording on old skool 4 and 8 tapemachines, but you do become a master at creating tight arrangements since there are not XXX amount of virtual tracks available.

I really enjoy it, and I only recently noticed the potential of the DD6 with regards to this application.

My main goal is to use very limited and simple tools and to apply them for less common tasks. Working like this is endless hours of fun and experimentation.
