Bet there's some chorous on that, seems like every guitar track in pop, rock music of that era(late 70's to late 80's) was "effected"! |

| not sure about the intro riff...but the effect on Rabin's solo was an MXR Pitch Transposer, which mixed the original note with one a perfect fifth/fourth(can't remenber!)higher. |

One of the early Boss pedal dictionaries(that came with compact pedals), probably volume 3...had the pedal layout to get that tone.
I have one around here somewhere...or it may be on this website. |

| The solo seems to pan between the left & right channel too. |

| They did a lot of processing on that solo. I think they may have even done a fair bit of sampling with the Fairlight. |

Hi silvertone6120 & Guys
We have a copy in the scans, "Pocket Dictionary Volume 1, page 42". Here is the link: http://www.bossarea.com/pocket/pockpage2.asp?image=1984/Vol1/Boss_PD_Vol1_Page41-42_1000.jpg
Below is a screen-resolution snapshot of that section, to minimize the load on the servers:

Thank you Dr. Bob...I couldn't find my copy anywhere. I never had volume 1 though; the earliest I had was volume 3 and it was in that one also. But I knew it would turn up on here! |

Hi silvertone6120
If you have ever checked at anytime? We have a few of the Pocket dictionaries scanned over on the other section of the bossarea.com site. http://www.bossarea.com/pocket.asp
Unfortunately we only have the front cover of Volume-3, and no internal scans.
If you or anyone are ever able to scan the internal pages of Vol-3, at at least 300 DPI, bossarea & all the members here would be very grateful.
Late last year I was very fortunate, that my good friend Justin, gave me his pristine copy of Volume-1.
Regards Dr. Bob |
