well, it's the end of the SYB-5 age...

in fact, I do have fun and I still discover tricks with SYB-3.
and I can't find new tricks on SYB-5 now.
since 1996, my pleasure is to plug a drum machine into the SYB-3. I had some other stuff to play with : first DD-3 delay, then I tried all BOSS effects, then a second SYB-3, VT-1 vocoder, and finaly the SYB-5 instead of the second SYB-3.
in fact I often play live only with SYB-3... so... farewell SYB-5... I will simply use it as a distortion/filter for my SYB-3, but not as a synth, exept for one track...
did you once have that feeling with a BOSS pedal ? |

hey Kulten, you seem to be an expert on all things SYB...
the other week at church, we were treated to a four-piece bassoon ensemble. like the time I heard the glorious sound of 100 tubas playing Christmas carols despite the rancid acoustics of the shopping mall, I wondered how I could get that sound out of a bass, with or w/o a pedal. so my question to you is, which SYB (-3 or -5) would you recommend if you wanted your bass (or guitar) to sound like a bassoon, or a tuba? thanks in advance.... |

| SYB can't emulate real instruments : they are "Virtual Analog" synthesizers, the sounds are very "synthetic", like end 70's/early 80's Roland synths. |

This might be a dumb question but are there any guitar players (not bass) that are having success with using the SYB-3 or SYB-5? I thought about maybe experimenting but i don't want to waste any bucks if it's not going to work. |
