The bass boost on this thing can make your testicles shake, just FYI.

Figuratively speaking

Nice design Laurie, the last one I mean with the round edges.

I'm thinking more and more about getting one myself after all the great rev's here.

Yeah I'm with you Dirk. The HZD really interests me but I didn't pull the trigger yet... Maybe in the very near future.
A question for Laurie about the pedal itself: do you think it is usable for Classic rock/ hard rock sound (AC/DC, Sabbath, ZZ Top, The Who,...)? I think it will work great for this in front of my tube amp, but I 'm gonna run it through my solid state amp also, so do you think it is good for this? Thanks alot
Joske

Hi Joske!

It isn't really a distortion pedal... it is designed to drive the hell out of a tube amp. It should work GREAT on your tube amp - lots of good heavy crunch. Not sure about the SS amp. Results vary... It will certainly give better clarity and touch sensitivity.

I'll have HUGE batch made probably late February and will be able to continue the discounted prices for BossArea members.

Thanks Dirk! Let me know... supply right now is limited, but I'll have a bunch more in about 6 weeks as I mentioned in the post above (probably with the new graphics on the front).

Mystery is where it's at! I've ordered one of Laurie's Swell pedals, I'm hoping he's still doing them in the plain black enclosure... dark and mysterious

Yep. VSW Swell is still in the plain black box Just waiting on the boards to come from the supplier. Shouldn't be more than about 2 weeks total wait on VSW pedals.

Ha! So it goes like this: "If you own a tube amp, you need this pedal... not only does it look good and sound fantastic, it will shake your testicles!".

Does that lower your sperm count, I wonder? Oh, NEVERMIND

Cheaper than a vasectomy I would imagine...

Laurie, I don't know if anyone's asked this yet but are there any plans for some kind of analog delay in the works?

At the moment, the development plans are (subject to evolution!):
HZD Boost - done, in production
VSW Swell - done, in production
TLM Loop-mixer - done, in production (but undergoing re-design to make building it easier)
SVP Phase - "Seventies Vintage Phase". Initial design and breadboarding complete. Design will be finalised by maybe April.
MMD Distortion - "Massive modern distortion" - a distortion with a BIG sound. At the concept stage. Breadboarding will be done "soon".
VSD Distortion - "Vintage smooth distortion". At the concept stage. Breadboarding will be done "soon".
VCO Comp - Vintage compressor... maybe the next design.
VDL Delay - Vintage (analogue) delay... maybe the next design.

Thanks for the reply Laurie! When i had a second thought about it, I will propably only use it with my tube amp, for which it is great as I hear you and the reviews. So I think i'm gonna order one soon, i'll let you know!

I really like the mockup.. especially with the box around the tone knobs.. but I think that all three knobs need to have some kind of scale/indicator so you know where the settings are/were at.. even just 4 or 8 points so you can orient yourself a little.

"Stomp on the Light - and shake your testicles!"

I would love to see these in stores one day.. a real homegrown success story!
