hi,
thort you guys where the best to ask, seen as we are the worlds compact pedal addicts.

so i need a new pedalboard to gig with, needs some kinda case and can't be too heavy, but heres the tricky bit, i need to fit these on it
boss sd-1, cs-3, ge-7, ph-3, dd-3, ce-20 and a rc-20,
a homemade overdrive, a marshall jackhammer, a wah pedal, and an big muff and EH polyflange in a big old case, plus a power supply.

i've looked everywhere measuring boards and so forth, nothing is big enough.

i've also tried making one but one practise told me never to use solid wood ever again.

plus i need to carry it bout on public transport

any ideas?

thanks a lot for you time guys

Welcome to the forum from across the water....home of the black stuff......to be honest it's a big order bro'.... it sounds like a pretty big board and the public transport thing........some of the other members have come up with some great boards in the 'lets see your pedalboards' topic,so you might get a few ideas there... the CE-20,RC-20 EH stuff and the jackhammer are gonna take up most of the real estate on the board plus i gig regularly so i know the limitations you can have in a pub/club with regards size ...and we have a large van........

Something that made me rethink my pedalboard was a question on a Dave Gilmour website(one of my heroes who has been known to use a few pedals in his time..)which was "do you really need all those pedals...? " and i realised i didn't.....this is what i use now and the 'board is a 'homebrew'.......instead of the CH-1 at the end i'm now using a CE-2....i use the rack for leslie and extra delay/reverb/modulation effects....

Franzoni,

I thought you used your CH-1 as a stereo split between a Marshall and another amp? How do you connect the second when you use a CE-2 now?

Sorry for the OT

Howdy Dirk.... pedals into the front end(for the moment) of the Pod, and left/right out on the Pod to the two amps... all amp sims and not needed effects, are turned off in the pod... basically just reverb and some extra delay settings(multitaps, stereo and analogue delays) also it's very handy for the switchabble stereo effects loop for the dynacord leslie unit.......the CE-2 i just dropped onto the board where the CH-1 was so if i want to go back to a simpler setup it's a quick swap...i found a nice reverb setting called 'dark hall' which seems to work for me plus the last time i tried using the Pod i was using it in mono.....i miss the stereo chorus of the CH-1 a little bit as the pod doesn't have one either but the dynacord in a slow speed with the CE-2 is also pretty cool sounding....

I see.
Yes it was offtopic, but always interesting how people solve things.

As for the topic starter, isn't it an option to built 2 smaller boards instead of 1 big one?

i did try that with a old briefcase and a bcb 60 but it casued some headaches and the polyflange still had to sit on the bcb,

the idea i had this mouring was to use an guitar case to carry one in and just take two cases to gigs and rehearsals.

thanks for the replys
i like franzonis idea of using a pod for some of it but i found my old pod xt to be a pain in the arse live, but i say this the modulation and delays are beautiful. but i wanna stick like it is now, the tone i get is sublime its just the hassle of the board.

Shoegazers Anonymous has a large pedal board. He uses what was once an old guitar case.

I have a mixer case that works great. You can always make your own too!

Not trying to put anyones idea down here ...but from my experience playing live most weekends i personally wouldn't be able to fit a guitar case sized pedalboard on the floor in front of me in most of the places we play.....even the board i have, which is a bit bigger than a regular boss one is a squeeze sometimes..especially if you have a singer who likes to jump around.........

I agree with Franzoni...most places we work my BCB-3 takes up more than enough space on the stage floor. I can't really see using any bigger setup than that.

I know that doesn't really help with the original question but that's just my experience.

The Behringer PB1000 holds a fair bit, and comes with a decent power supply.

I'm changed my BCB60 for one.
