Well, that's why I got this rather cheap Johnson Dobro. It was only 300, and another 100 for a Schertler Pickup to play live. But the cones of the Johnsons are quite good quality, I compared the guitar to genuine Nationals with 2000 or 3000 price tags, and the sound difference was by no means as big as the price difference |

Were playing at a high profile fashion show tonight for charity (autism and for the recent earthquake in Haiti) the theme is 70's glam...and there are two swimwear segments and lingerie segments..i'll try to take some photos(were playing the music for the models and are setup at the top of the catwalk so we have some of the best seats in the house...) as i can see you single guys are enjoying the pics over in the girls and guitars topic... ....or i can post it here in the gigging photos if you want..as i'm actually playing while the show is on i'll try to get someone to take a few for me.. it's the one of the newest and high profile niteclubs in Dublin and we were soundchecking earlier this afternoon going through house rig what a sound..... ...should be some show later....sometimes life in the music business can be so tough and unrewarding........... ...

Yep i've done a few of those as well over the years as well Dirk... sometimes they can be the best ones... we played at a 40th birthday in a guys living room last summer and afterwards he invited up to stay for the rest of the BBQ/Party..he had a whole pig on a spit like something out of a errol flynn movie and the biggest bottle of Jack Daniels i've ever seen..... needless to say we helped ourselves to both and were the last to leave around 9.00am the next morning.....

Franz - I am just so envious Nice indeed - my eyesight is bad enough already & a gig like that would totally trash it
We've got a cracker coming up in May - we are doing a weekend Rugby festival - in a big tent with the audience in it and three other bands. Think we might have to hire a Transit for that one too, as it's way up the motorways from us - but plenty of
We did a biggish benefit gig last year and have just had some more photos from the crowd sent to us which are below. We are trying to get hold of the 'official' photographer to bag some more which I'll post up if they are ok.
Me and Hutch having a 'Quo' moment...(Caroline I think...)

Me having a 'Clapton' moment (not sure what the song was but clearly it was intense )

PS: just noticed this - our bassist (FM) looks like he's wearing a very odd pair of glasses
The full band with our guest sax player who was superb on Brown Sugar - hat's off to her - real quality.

here is the video from the contest organisation :
http://www.zicmeup.com/medias/webtv/?p=670
click on the ZicMeUp pict on the right then go to 2'20 (full band but sound is not very good) or 3'03 (me and the leader, good sound).
there's also an interview in french.
