I think i spent a full 24 hours in front of my friends TV playing GTA San Andreas, and only got about a quarter of the way through it. Thank god that their was Beer and jagermeister otherwise i never would have got to sleep. I think that was the last time I played a videogame.
Here is a really short version of a long winded answer to the Game Console Vs the Pc argument.
No matter how Fast how Smooth or how interactive these games appear to be getting. All the major game console manufacturer's have one major drawback. The TELEVISION it runs at approximately 1/3 to 1/2 the resolution as any modern computer monitor. You can only squeeze som many pixels onto a screen and thats it.
The detail and realism of these ganes is almost at its limit and within a few years they will all but be relegated to childrens toys fom ages 1-10. At that my 9 year old niece can navigate a PC more than well enough.
Unfortunately their almost a dead technology. But hey thats just my opinion.
I used to spend about 12+ hours a day playing online(Counter Strike). This is why I do not play or own a video gaming device(or a PC for that matter). It was fun at the time, but that was ALL I DID. I do miss Counter Strike though.
