i love my se 50, vintage as it is, and am trying to incorporate into my pedal board. The BRB 120 power supply is HUGE, however, and im wondering if theres an aftermarket power supply with a smaller profile that will fire up this unit.
is the BRB120 center pin negative? doesnt specify on the brick.
thanks! |

Hi norumba and welcome to the forum.
The BRB supply is only a transformer. It supplies 12V AC. I think it would be safest to stick with the BRB. |

hi, thanks! but its just very very big and wont fit underneath the pedal board
the Pedal Gear JuiceBoxhttp://www.pedalgear.net/page2/page7/page7.html has a 12 volt AC 1500 mA output that should work and can obviously do a lot of other power needs, so the specs arent a totally unique configuration. i may get something with that much capability later, but for now i just need a single transformer power supply with a smaller profile.
still wondering if its center pin negative... |

Hi norumba and welcome!
With an AC supply, there is no "negative" and "positive". The two AC legs are completely interchangeable - meaning it doesn't matter which wire goes to the center.

hi there, thanks for the welcome!
didnt know that about AC power supplies! thnaks for clarifying. Been on a 10 year Pedal/ Effects "fast", so my knowledge base is pretty rusty, but getting back into it in a big way these past few months and learning a lot.
i love this SE50 by the way, im getting some gorgeous, lush subtle tones from it. Havent figured out the best way to mount it on a pedal board though -- exploring different options. |

i knew that -- I'm not that rusty ! -- the clarification was re the center pin + or - issue. didnt know that wasnt an issue on AC power supplies.
