Hey folks, I'm new to the board, What's up all? I just picked up an old GE-6 and I was wondering if anyone knows of a mod to get the LED to funtion more like the newer pedals.

There are instructions here for the DS-1. http://www.godiksennet.com/images/sch/DS1PG2.jpg
The GE-6 will be similar, but the component numbers won't be the same. A bit of detective work should show you what coeersponds to the description. |

Hey Laurie,
That should be helpful thanks, I'm thinking I might have to run a jumper wire from somewhere in the circuit that's active when the pedal is on, maybe from a cap so there won't be much voltage loss in the circuit.
Thanks again |

| Think twice before you do the mod! This is a rare vintage pedal, not very expensive today maybe (but rare), but in the future youll get much more for an unmodded one. |

Hi TKO Ken & (Tom)
Welcome to the forum from Australia. Just having a look at your web site..
You mention: Take two guys, two guitars, a "bucket load of stomp boxes"? If you have time, tell us more about your collection, & how you use them. maybe even upload some pictures of your pedals & pedal boards.
There are lots of friendly & Technical ears/eyes here.
Regards Dr. Bob |

Hey Dr. Bob thanks for the welcome.. Wow where do I start our boxes.. Tom's rig differs from mine slightly.
Tom starts with a Peavey Ecoustuc ATS (solid body electric acoustic with a factory tremolo) cool as hell! He runs that into a Boss GE-7 then a Roland GR33 guitar synth, Boss CE-3 then into a DOD a/b/ box. The A side of the A/B goes to the mixer and is used as his rythm in the mix. the B side of the A/B goes into a Boss OD-1 then a Boss Pitch shifting delay and a Boss compressor sustainer and into a differant channel in the mixer as his lead channel in the mix. This allows him to switch the a/b box and go from a sweet acoustic sound to an overdriven screaming lead i.e. Hotel Califorina, Confortably Numb. The guitar synth is used for the strings in The Rain Song, He has one of the patches of the GR33 set up so that his Low E,A and D strings sound like a bass and the rest of the strings sound as an acoustic. This is used when we play (beleive it or not) Do You Feel Like We Do, and other little bit here and there.
whoo!!
My rig................

I use a Washburn SBF-80, a Washburn SBT-21 and a solid body e/a 12 string that I built. That goes into a Cry baby wah, Boss GE-7, CS-2, PH-3, Dano Tuna melt tremolo and into a StarTouch A/B box. A channel goes into a Behringer digital Reverb and to the mixer as my rythm in the mix. The B channel goes into a Rocktron Banshee talkbox, Tech 21 Tri A.C. SansAmp, Boss GE-6, Digitech Digital Delay and out to the mixer as my lead channel in the mix.
All that crapp goes into our Mackie 808s,Alesis M-EQ230 Equalizer,BBE 882i Sonic Maximizer and run out to a pair of JBL G726 cabs (15' and a horn) we use JBL Control 1's on mic stands for monitors (nice punchy little speakers)
WE also have a lighting truss with chaser and 12 cans, fog machine, and strob lights but we don't use it very often. It's just waaaaay too much stuff for two guys to set up and break down. and a duo with a roadie? not gonna happen and our wives won't carry nuttin'
Not your normal setup for an acoustic duo but then we don't sound like any duo I've ever heard before.
I guess I don't have to tell ya that we've been at this for a while, since 1991 "God!! we're friggon' old"
If you check out our web site we have a couple MP3#'s recorded live during a practice quite some time ago....we've sounded better but it was something to post up. http://tkojams.com/ |

i think you're right Goran, I'm gonna leave it alone, I might even take it out of my board and pack it away in a safe place for some day |
