I have a couple of old collectible Boss-pedals were chemicals from old batteries have corroded the inside of the battery-clips so that there is no connection (I canīt use them with batteries but of course with a power-supply).
There are several solutions:
Cut up the plastic and resolder the connection.
Buy a new battery-clip and solder to a) using the longest possible of the original battery cable, b) inside the jacks where the originals are soldered.
Leave it as it is and use a power supply.

Well, opinions...

New battery clips usually comes with wires attached so I would choose to replace the whole thing.

I would install a new battery clip and use the connection that is inside the pedal. Basically replacing the clip and wires with a new set. It's very easy to remove the old set and replace it.

I know itīs easy to replace but my main thought was about how it going to act on the originality/price if I want to sell it in the future?
If you have an old Tweed Deluxe that sounds bad (due to aged parts as electrolytic caps), BUT in fully original shape, it worth more than one where everything is fixed and it sounds great TO A COLLECTOR.If read somewhere about a Fender Strat from the 50īs with original strings on it, the strings made a huge difference in price/collectiblility, but sure not in playability.

In that case, I would suggest replacing the old battery clip where it attaches to the inside of the pedal with a new one. Save the old clip. Maybe roll it up and tape it to the inside top of the battery compartment. That way if you decided to sell the pedal later, you could install the old battery clip before selling it.
