Just got a DS-1 - bough as MIJ from ebay. But to my suprise it has a green label MIJ. The serial number sticker in the battery compartment was conviniently scraped of so I have no way of telling.
The board contains a TA7136AP chip. Furthermore it reads ET-28F and ET5205-510B. The Power socket reads HOSIDEN JAPAN.
Anyone ever seen a green label DS-1 or is this a MIT disguised as a MIJ?
My MIT DS-1 has a TA7136AP chip too and the PCB reads ET-28F and ET5205-510B also. As far as I know the latest MIJ DS-1 has the ET-28E PCB and the earliest MIT has the mentioned ET-28F. But as long as you paid not a higher price only for getting a MIJ this version of the MIT DS-1 should do the same good job soundwise like a MIJ one do
I forgot: how are the lugs of the cables comming from the pots connected to the pcb? Are they routed through the pcb and have the lead on the downside only? Than this is preety sure a MIT pcb. Or do they have a lead drop on the upside like the MIJ use to have.
Here are two examples of pcbs. First one is a MIJ CE-2 and the second one is my MIT DS-1. You can easily see the difference of the connections of the lugs.
Never seen a green label DS-1. It doesn't sound like it's the correct bottom plate. It is not correct that all Japanese DS-1s have ET-28E PCBs. Mine is marked ET-28F and it has the long dash in DS-1 so it's not a late Japanese version. The wires are however not pushed through the PCB as in the MIT DS-1 pictured by lightburst.
