I got the fever for a new guitar,BAD. since i am lefty it is almost impossible for me to get a great guitar and i hate ordering them. cause it is wood. you can have two guitar the same next to each other. they will both sound and play diffrent. i have had no luck so far i just ran into 3 epiphones today. i have been searching pawn shops and a few music stores no luck yet.

I've written on the forum about this before.....i'm a lefty but i play right handed, due to the fact that the first person to show me chords couldn't be bothered to change the strings around for me.... also the was still a lot of superstitious nonsense about left handed people in ireland during the 70's when i was growing up especially with the people from the rural areas who all seemed to be teachers in my school, one teacher used to call me an anti-christ...... getting a steel ruler across the knuckles every time you use your left hand soon becomes a pain in the arse...probably why i lost interest in school at an early age....one good thing that came out of it was(as zerksies know only too well)it's a lot easier to find a decent right handed guitar.......

damn right . i played a mexican strat today "BORING" all the epiphone crap. and i saw a ibenz rg series. but i havent played one of them since i was like 12. I mean to prove my point about ordering guitars. the last guitar i bought my Martin. i was amazed to find the exact sames one right next to each other.I tried them both out. one had high action with a great sound. and one had low action with fret buzz and all this other stuff. so i took the one with high action. cause i know i could fix it. cause the store had ok temp and no humidity. so i bought that one.I am looking on ebay and craigslist and i mean i am willing to travel for a good guitar. i got a few hidaway pawn shops that i can still look.

Gibson actually halted all lefty production a couple years ago. Some stuff is available now, but it's slim pickings - one or two colours here or there. Acoustics are the same story, but they'll build anything for a price (acoustic at least).

One axe of note.. Fender Japan made a 69-style lefty white strat. It ONLY came lefty, and the clear intention was for a righty player to string/use it like Hendrix. It was a killer reissue strat with the usual easy Japanese-fender neck. You might find something bizarre like that lying around somewhere..

OR build your own with your favourite neck or something @ Warmoth.com. I am not affiliated with them, but they're nifty. Same for stewmac.com.

Good luck on your lefty hunt.. I'm surrounded by lefties in my life - I think that 10% ratio is a little off (they're taking over).

they JUST upgraded the standards for the first time in over 5 years.. not sure you'll see too much new from them.. just more $25k collector guitars. and more weak MIM amps like the 5150-iii [:oE (imo).

As a dyed in the wool Fender person it's sad to think thats the way it's going but i think it's true..... Gibson as well.....i heard the QC on some of their lower priced stuff( 1-2K range) is starting to drift again..... better off with going secondhand on some of this stuff if you can.....

Unless you are particular about brand names and headstocks, I highly suggest looking here:

One of the largest left lineups available. Great prices. I am not a lefty, but love the 4 SXs and 3 Douglas guitars I have purchased from them, and I hear nothing but great things about the Agiles...in fact some say that some most Agiles are just as good, if not better, than any Epi, and some have even said they prefer them over Gibson. Good luck, and let us know what you get...

I need a Gibbo 335 but I just can't find one I like...thinking about going for a Custom Shop Larry Carlton but that will cost an arm and a leg now that sterling has bombed - will just have to wait, unless I'm lucky enough to get hold of a good one in a Store

One day.....
