For those of you who have one of these guitars or can guide me toward one or the other, please chime in. I'm considering one or the other & need a bit o' assistance in choosing. Ultimately, I've been researching as much as I can & will go try them soon as one of my shops carries both. Purchase pending any day now. Tks. |

Hi DeFrag I think Rics are way cool. I found that even high end guitars differ, when I bought my LP I tried a few of them, and then when I tried the one that I bought, I knew it was the one, right away |

| Which I'll guess is why to (hardly) ever buy a guit off the 'net.. you just have to "find" that right feel 'twixt you both. |

| I guess that if you know how it feels in general, a good luthier could get any little quirks out if there were any, but I don't think any two guitars sound exactly the same. |

My spree has about ended. Umm, the neck yeah.. its an EXTREMELY low action, seemingly low-profile frets w/no buzz whatsoever runnin' 10s. I had the tech adjust the 2 truss rods to give me some bow & some string height so I can get used to it before going back closer to stock. At this point it certainly has a bow to it.
Regarding the lacquered fretboard, I think in more capable hands it would wear after a few years but it is pretty. I haven't played it any longer than a couple spurts of 10 min or so. All I know is that this guitar is NOT for the finger-pickers or blues benders.. more really for chord work & quick scaling melodies.
Not much time, just got back from taking eldest son to get wisdom teeth out. Checking in really. More later. |

Ah, Rickenbacker. God bless 'em. No-one else makes anything like those guitars. I'm very, very envious.... |
