The only way I use my NS-2 is with the IN & OUT. I have never used the loop, I think it does an effectiv job without the loop. Just recently, I have started running my NS-2 first, and it helps eliminate single coil hum with my Teles... |

The way I always thought it worked was if you dont use the loop, everything is suppressed up to there, but if you use it, only whats in the loop gets suppressed.
Ive never actually tested it though. |

Matt,
To answer your question the LS-2 acts as an A/B. I found that keeping it in ruined the continuity of the signal. Even in A/B the signal for the CE-3 doesn't come in as fast I would like and there are volume fluctuations. Keeping it by its own in the chain didn't fair well for me as it seemed to bleed onto the others.
As for the GE-7 and OD-2 I have tried it like that and it just didn't work for me. Maybe they got crossed over by mistake. Your suggestion is noted.

Jack,
I have seen it also run first but I have traditionally run it last. I just always assummed that running it first would dampen later signal noise.

Not so much a board (I've yet to build one since I didn't want my choices to be limited by the amount of board space I had available), but here's a pic of the gang I took for insurance purposes. Have a CE-1 that would make it into the chain now, which raises the Boss count by one.

This my nifty little pedalboard: everything a bassplayer needs in my opinion.

It was a Fender Blues Jr. Currently I have an old Roland SIP-300 Preamp from the Dimension D series sitting on top of a old Pioneer micro system. Sounds atrocious. I've got a 70s Eminar 100w power amp to connect to the Roland - I'm just waiting for a 4ohm cab to show up at the right price. |

Heh Hungrymusician,
What is the Ibanez with the silver big stereoknobs?
Strato have you ever thought about using more than one LS2 for switching sounds on and off? At the moment I could not access your images but I have seen them in the past and I know your set-up is huge.
Been trying something similar along the lines of that and yes it is great, but the tapdancing is somethings a little less fun.
Been thinking of using more LS2's [about 4 of them........] and if I can find them cheap I will get into that, mainly for switching comfort.

I used to have an idea for really easy switching comfort. You would never have to touch the actual pedals again. They would be set up, and each one has its own mechanic foot. When you select a setting, it turns on/off all the correct pedals by stomping on them. So you could have different combinations anytime, with 1 foot-press (a scrolling press, or a couple in like a brain-bank)
I wanted to make it, but I realised that it would need a memory which one is still on or off, so nothing came of it. |

Looks fun instead of just the plain green of the TS-9. Thought at first that it was a compressor from the 9-series as they have a fairly similar colour. Nice touch those big stereo-knobs, gives the pedal a real 70s vibe. |
