The barman normally has one behind the bar,ask in your local pub..they usually lend them out after the 9th or 10th bottle of beer and about 2mins before the second half of the gig...but be careful...!!! they have been known to make your amp go very loud as well..i think it's something in the pcb which boosts the signal going in the front end of the amp or it could be linked to the 'yuck' control..... ...... |

Hi One-Way
Seems I have, about half a dozen of them here for repair, & no one ever seems to come back to pick them up. So they just keep piling up in the corner.
I have a hand drawn schematic as well, in anyone is interested.
But the custom Yuk Chip is a bitch to get as a spare part. And it's that IC, that fails the most, I think it overheats, all the time, trying to filter out all the Fret Buzz - Missed Notes & Poor Timing. I only have 3 YuK IC's left in stock...
Regards Dr. Bob |

Dr Bob, Those poor people that never picked them up must be suffering. Seems to me their guitar playing would never be the same again. |

ya but then you would become reliant on it. kinda like guitarists who hide behind distortion
you must become one with the instrument, get good, THEN and only then should you use such a powerful pedal.
and then he rested on the 7th day |

| Heh, yeah power-chords 1-5-1 buried in distortion does not a good guitar player make! Hint: try some theory, chord construction, scales. |

Heh, well no I guess but try something melodic & learn a shred of music theory. You'll thank me later as it'll open up a plethora of new progressions & tonal explorations for you. My son was happing shredding but hitting half the wrong notes. Now with a bare amount of theory behind him.. he's sounding much Much MUCH better! |

i'm all for melody and structure but i'm just a noise/electronic enthusiast...i will have nothing to do with shred music...i'll go with pedals 4 pv with saying it's all in fun/expression...and sounding good is totally subjective of course...
and personally i attribute people who shun those who use alot of distortion/fuzz to being old or just generally close-minded about music in general...and that was in no way directed at any of you guys...i just laugh every now and then when i think of this one kid i know said he showed his dad my pedalboard over the internet and the guy just laughed and said "ha, only pussies who can't play guitar need all those pedals..."...the irony being that he listens to Led Zeppelin who at their time were definitely no strangers to the newest effects...
and that's my story for today...ha...
cheers. |
