Hi there,
I have a problem with my DD-3, Basically the Pedal switch latches and un-latches the effect, but when the effect is active there is only the input signal present at the output, no delayed signal.
Has any one else had this problem?
Does any one have a circuit diagram of the DD-3, board DD-3A. Ive taken the pedal apart and Im hoping its either the NAND gate (which I believe is used as the latch control) or the multiplexer that has failed, as I can easily replace those.
Any help would be gratefully received. Regards Billy Steel \m/

| Had the same problem, in my case it was a wrong adapter measuring 14 v instead of 9 v. Works fine with a psa adapter. |

Hi sp-1
I've tried 3 differnt PSUs. All giving 9V, and to be honest my original PSU has powered the DD-3 quite happily for the last few years.
Might try it with a 9V battery, but got a feeling it ka-put!
Thanks for the reply

Hi, if it's a old DD-3 (Blue-Label) with the same circuit as the DD-2, one of the several (black) capacitors might not work - the just fail becaus e of their age. If you have a multimeter, you can try to test them: Choose the highest resistor adjustment and try to measure the capacitor. the resistance will normally just go up to 1 (not measurable). Then change the two mesuare-pins (a.k.a black and red) and take a look on the multimeter. If the capacitor is ok, it will unload (shows a minus an the display)and reload again to 1. But be carefull - according to the schematic, not all capacitors will load to 1, this is only an amateur way of testing, there might be some electronic-professionals at this forum, who have better ideas.

Hi Billy Steel Sorry I missed your post... happens sometimes.
I just posted the DD-2/3 Schematic links in the Other Dead DD-3 post by gokarna Here is a recap:
You can find the DD2/3 schematic here, it's almost the same as the DD3 first long IC version. Don't forget, that the DD2/3 take a few moments to turn on, when first activated. (slight turn on delay). Catches a lot of people off-guard, & they think it's faulty.

Did anything happen to it, before it stopped working, like rev Polarity, or wrong voltage plug pack adapter? or unregulated adapter?

In the DD2/3 schem, bottom left corner, its says it has 5 sec' of mute before the effect kicks in. Think I've seen it on other delays too Funny thing is my RV-3 is switched on when power is applied, and have to wait 5 seconds before I can turn it off |

Hi, I've had the same problem with a blue label DD-3. On of the caps was bad, it was C39, nearly in the middle of the pcb. I wasn't able to find this failure by myself, so Roland here in Germany fixed it, but it was quiet expensive. The technician from Roland told me, that some of caps, the little round black ones, just fail because of their age. Now I have another DD-3, where only the delayed signal comes from the output, but no original guitarsignal.
I hope, you'll find the fault,
