Seems like I am on a brainstorm mood today. Maybe trying to avoid working on a Saturday... So here goes..
Why aren't any "4" model names on boss?? Wouldn't a DD-4 be cool? How would have been the CE-4 of your dreams?
I was about to come here and ask, instead I googled a bit on Japanese superstition...
"The number four is considered inauspicious because it is pronounced the same as the word for death (shi). Therefore, one should not make presents that consist of four pieces, etc. In some hotels and hospitals the room number four is skipped."

Pretty Much true, even tho they made a killer pedal with the PQ4 |

I guess they couldn't avoid that "4" because it's related to the pedal's functionality (as Boss' equalizers are). But it was never made in Japan :D

True but according to the Boss book it never was a big seller. This merely confirmed the assumption that you should never use the number 4  . |

| the japanese find that the number 4 is unlucky.hence the pq4 as much as many people find it as a great pedal, it bombed in sales so no red pedals or #4 sp-1 failed and xt-2 failed so you will never see a red or a #4 pedal |

The PQ4 didn't sell too well cause it was too confusing for some.
Didn't know that about the red pedals, kinda makes sense. You look at them and have such good expectations, and a whole lot of nothing but  |
