I am new to the forum. It looks like a great group. I live in Kansas, USA. I recently aquired a non-working PH-2. I have been able to trace the signal a little ways into it before I lose it. I could really use PH-2 schematics and layout if anyone has them or knows where I can find them. I have built several pedals this year and am frustrated that I cannot get a factory built one working. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Steve |

Hi Stevecg
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
What seems to have happened to your PH-2?
Send me a PM via the forums email, & I'll see what I can dig up.
Regards Dr. Bob

There's lots of schematics links in http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4276 over in the tech section. Have you already searched those links?
Hi Everyone, thanks for the welcome.
This PH-2 was given to me non-working. The bypass circuit is working and the Test LED as well. I think I can find the problem with schematics. But any advice is welcome. I have checked all of the links above, plus many others. Found most of the other Boss Phasers, but not the PH-2.
Thanks, Steve |

Thanks ssanyee, The schematics look good. It will take me a few days to get it troubleshot between other things going on. I will post what I find. |

Hi all, sorry this is so long.
Looks like (IC9 HD14053 analog switch) is not working. It has input signals,9v,ground and logic signal controlled by the mode switch and no output. I lifted the coupling cap at the output to make sure nothing else was pulling it down.
I am still afraid I am missing something. This chip looks like it has been replaced before. I wonder if whoever replaced it got it working or is this where they got stuck.
In other parts of the board I can hear the phase shift part of the circuit. The controls affect them as they should.
Will any 4053 work? I cannot find the original replacement. I was going to try the NTE4053B. Does anyone know a better replacement
Thanks, Steve

Hi Stevecg & Guys
Stevecg, can you please start a new thread in the "Mods & Technical" section, & link back to here for constancy of the thread.
The repair info is really great, but this thread was originally just for Schematic links.
I am unable to move the last few posts over, without moving the whole thread, it's not in the forum's code. Unless Bossarea has some secrets he still hasn't passed on down to me.
Thanks a heap guys.
Regards Dr. Bob |
