Hello, and thanks for the info in the forums.
I also have a powersupply DC 9V 500ma and 6 DC 9V pedals. I don't have problems with my cables or any sort (even the guitar was checked for grounding issues but it's ok now).
This is my problem:
I'm getting a HUM a lot when my overdrive is on with my booster. When i turn off the booster, The HUM gone. I would like the sound better if I could get rid of the HUM from my effects. BTW the booster I use is from the start of the effects chain.

Welcome to the forum rockman88!
How is your power supply wired to the pedals? Can you post a pic of it?
Regards, Laurie. |

The power supply is located @ right with the Hughes & Kettner sticker. I don't have any better pics yet. It has 6 DC plugs and the Korg AX30G has its own PSu 9V DC 3 Amperes(I borrowed it and returned it recently).

Sometimes its just from high gain pedals if they're cranked. Do you have a noise suppressor you could try? |

Rockman, in your rig pic, which pedal is the "booster"? Not sure if you are running the OD-2 at the same time as the HM-3? If so, that will give huge hum with not much that can be done about it (too much gain with both pedals active).
Yep pedals4pv... my NF-1 pretty much fixed my hum problems too, but I get the feeling it's more than that here?

the booster i use is the Daphon E200D(just below the PSu). Thanks guys! I am thinking right now of adding a NS-2, I just don't know if there are any dealers of BOSS or any brand of stompboxes around. Anyways thanks for the idea.
-oh i forgot, i have seen in the picture and my rig, i have used a total of 3 PSu s, 1 is for the KORG, 2 for the 6 stompboxes and 3 for the booster. The psu for the booster is plugged in my PSu for the other 6 stompboxes.- this is my edited pic

Um where would i be placing the NS-2? Is it from the start or the end of my fx chain? Although i have read it from the forums, maybe you guys have different setups that i would like to try. |

I tried it but i don't do it anymore. the booster's gain is 0. tone and level are at max, Its more like a pre-amp to me because of the tone of the booster although i have an eq, more likely it boosts hi mids and a tighter bass, kinda a cocked wah. opened and closed halfway i guess, sounded like stryper sound i guess.
It has labels now

Sorry to take so long to get back rockman888!
Bossarea, could you move this thread to the "tech" forum? (I keep forgetting to look in here)
Anyway... some dumb questions. Forgive me if I am asking stuff that has obvious answers, but I'd like to get the basics straight in my head
1) Has the hum always been there, or did it appear "out of nowhere one day"?
2) have you tried powring all the pedals with known, fresh 9V batteries? If so, is the hum still there when you take the PSU out of the equation?
Regards, laurie. |
