Thanks Bossarea!

Jilty, I took chances when I bought those vintage pedals.I asked the seller a lot of questions before I place my bid or purchased it.but sometimes I use Buy it Now then I ask questions before someone snatched from my hand. and sometimes it depends, like this item. DS-1 with silver screw? for 25bucks? I skipped on this one and I didn`t buy it.

Hi there !!!

I think it should be the best topic to say "hello" and speak about my collection :)
My name's Julien and I am a french bass and guitar player. I've been using Boss pedals for a few years (my first one was a Japanese CS-2 bought approximately 5 years ago for 10$), but I have just gone crazy with them and have started to collect as many as I can one month ago.
For the moment, I only have 14 of them but I'm quite crazy when it refers to collections so it should grow quickly :) Here are the pedals I own :

AW-3
CS-2
CS-3
DC-3
EH-2
FT-2
HM-3
HR-2
LM-2
LMB-3
MT-2
NS-2
ODB-3
PQ-4
SYB-3
SYB-5

I have a little idea of the quotes of the rarest ones, but what do you think of the price I bought the "out-of-stocks" ???

Here is the current set-up for my bass - by the way, if you have any advice regarding the place of each pedal, please tell me :) :

Regards
Julien

good catch lordofmushrooms. I saw one from ebay as you described being sold at $153 and it must be you. Do you know any ebay coupons that deduct the amount from $153 to $100? It would be fantastic if you can share with us.

Hello Sherlock Holmes ! In fact, I bought a DC-3 from my local music store in France saturday morning and tested it all day with my best friend who is also a guitarist extraordinaire... And he really fell in love with this stomp box. I was already monitoring the one on Ebay and decided to take it for him. I'll make a picture of both as soon as I receive the second one and will post it here, that should be a great collector

CS-2
OD-1
DS-1
SD-1
CE-2
CE-3
DD-20
LS-2
FS-5L x2
FS-5U x2
FV-300L

Thats all for now from Boss but Im waiting for a HM-2 from Ebay wich is on the way to me and of cause there are some more stompers of other brands in my collection

And since Boss makes some other good stuff Ive got a DR-670, a DB-66 and a TU-12H

In the past I made a big mistake. Once I bought a GT-6 and thought I can sell some of my pedals. So I sold a SD-2, a CH-1, a TU-2, a PH-3, a DS-2, a CS-3, a PH-2 and a DD-5. Shortly after that I regret my discision (most for the DD-5) and began collecting pedals again starting with the DD-20 Now the GT-6 is gone too and if I ever want to get me the GT-8 I will be more clever not to sell my stompers for that!

Hi Lightburs, just out of interest, why did you sell the GT-6. It is a multi-effector eh?

I have never owned one, saw them come along in the 80s I knew of some folks who did the same as what you did: Sold all their pedals.

Whenever I visited them, they played me some of their sounds, and I have to admit I did like what I heard, but it always struck me a little that they could not modify that sound a bit, you know, just put a bit more bass on the distortion or something of that kind.

Okay the GT-6 is a more recent affair of the muli-effectors eh? And the days of the 80s are long gone, now you can modify "on the spot" some of those beasts, however you still sold your GT-6, so somehow you still favour compact floorpedals. What is this then?

Visserman:

Fortunately I didnt sold all my pedals and kept my CE-2 and some other stompers. I bought the GT-6 because in that time I wanted more flexibility for my sound experiments at a reasonable price. And the GT-6 was the first multi I could handle

The reason why I turned back to single units was that I wanted a second setup for the more simple gigs. But once Ive started buying compact effects again I got that fever again too. It didnt take long and I had enough single compact effects together to change from the GT-6. I sold the GT-6 only because I needed money to buy - yes you guess right - some more compact stompers.

But now I miss the possibilities of creatig sounds with the GT-6 and I think I will get me a GT-8 next year! But this time without selling my stompers for it

I think both ways of dealing with your sound has something of its own and it seems I cant decide wich one is the better.

Great to hear your story there Lightburst, I think there is no better way to achieve differences in sound: Any given pedal will do its sound mojo in a particular way, and when you like that sound you are bound to like that pedal too.

Think of how many chorus pedals there are: They all do it in a different way, but they all may sound good in their own ways too.

The possiblities are infinite and money [and time!!] may be the only factor which could make one decide that you may have enough for a little while.

Been playing with the Sans Classic, now the sounds you can obtain from this pedal, fabulous!!! What more sounds would one want? I especially like the idea that you can use all those sounds on all your amps as well. Use it on a small Marshall MS-4 and it can give you the feeling that you are using a JMP through a large stack, use it through a Fender Twin, and you still get that feeling, but with just that much more detail in your sound. Really something like this brings a smile of my face for days, also makes me feel: Yep, do not really need much more since you can go from Fender, Marshall, Hiwatt, Mesa and Vox all with just this box, and no, it feels very different from the "concventional" amp-modelers, since the Sans is a preamp rather than a modeler: It still interacts with your guitar and your amps and all your other pedals you have infront of it.

Good thing about the Sans amp is that all their models sound good, they work well for different insturments [keys, bass, fatten up mixes, use it on snaredrum sounds ect. Out of all Sans amp pedals the Classic is the one which offers the most sonic flexability.

Since I'm starting to sell, (the SFC-1 is 1st, the Boss CS-1 will probably be next) I decided to take some pix of the whole collection at its biggest. I call this a testament to the fact that God has given me an amazingly patient & understanding wife.

She says I should caption these pix as "I've got a pedal problem".

When I had them all staged in the backyard, I had her look out the window and her quote was, "That's just obnoxious". We've never had them all out together....

Pedal problem? Nah, it's just R&D!

How many chorus pedals do you need? Not this many! Coming to an ebay auction near you soon....

The Boss SE-50 arrived just in time for the photo shoot!
The Fishman Aura is the coolest thing they've ever made.
The Roland GR-20 was an impulse buy. I was so impressed with it that I just bought it. The strings and how well they track - chords or arpeggios - is amazing. I wish I had more time to spend with this one!

The DSD-2 is my "advanced" class project. The digital delay chip doesn't delay. Don't know if it's dead or if there is some other circuit problem around it. I continue to ponder it.....

Stock Tubescreamer & Analogman Silver Tubescreamer.
The volume pedal is an Ernie Ball stereo version. It didn't have a knob on the side, so I gave it a Boss knob. Nice.
The PUE-5 is the first pedal I bought.
The Ross phaser & the blue Ibanex phaser are loaners. See, I don't own THAT many pedals!
The black speaker box on top of it is one of those old Lil Smokey amps inside a cell phone car kit speaker. For those who haven't seen these, They originally were small 9V distortion boxes that were packaged inside a pack of cigarettes with a 2" speaker. I re-housed the whole thing to get a bigger speaker. LOL I think they got sued by the cig companies, because now they just have a generic looking small box that they come in. I kept the original box, but I don't remember where it is....

Well, now I gotta put everything back away.

Grace and peace,

Steve
