The LS-2 looka a little daunting. I have read that it also functions as a power supply? Is this correct? How many pedals can it supply...?

It doesn't really work as a power supply. It is more correct to say it works as a power distributor. You can connect the LS-2 to an AC adapter and then hook up a daisy chain from the LS-2 to the rest of your pedals. How many pedals can be powered depends on the capasity if AC adapter being used.

I would highly recommend the LS-2 if you use more than 5/6 pedals, or if you own some cool-but-noisy/non-true-bypass/volume-drop pedals - It is an integral part of my pedal board.

It's not complicated to use, either - Send and return sockets for two loops, a volume control for each loop (to balance quieter pedals) and a selector switch that determines which loop(s) you want to turn on and off with the footswitch.

The volume controls act on the return buffer, so even if you have no pedals in the loop, you can set it to act as a clean boost (it has a lot of boost available), or even as two levels of boost, e.g. slight boost on loop A, massive solo boost on loop B - This can sound wonderful pushing the input of a valve amp.

LS-2 users: Do you, like me, wish there was an option to run both loops at the same time, but in series rather than parallel? Maybe it's just me...

No, it isn't. I'm currently working on this mod, it should not be really hard to do.

The LS-2 is NOT a power supply. It just acts as a female connector for a daisy chain. Nothing inside acts on the power passing thought. I personnally prefer using a Visual Sound Daisy chain, with a female connector allready on it. This way I don't need my LS-2 to power pedals.
