This is about the best article I've seen on this topic:
http://aga.rru.com/TechTips/disp.cgi?file=LV/BiasAdj.tt

Just used the "THE OUTPUT TRANSFORMER SHUNT METHOD" on a mate's 1964 Deluxe Reverb. Worked a treat.

They look good. If soldering and high-voltages aren't your thing, then these tools are a good way to go.

I was thinking about getting something like this for the future..i got a nasty belt out of the Musicman a while back when i was changing a couple of caps on the bias supply board and it frightened the life out of me......

I had one of the JJ tubes KT77's i put in the Musicman combo go bad on me a couple of weeks ago...did some very strange things to the amp..i thought the output tranny was going south, loss of power(more than you would expect with the loss of one output valve out of 4)the whole chassis was very touch sensitive and a lot of pops and crackles but visually the valve looked ok... i changed all the big and some of the small caps in this amp a while back so i was fairly sure it wasn't them but there is two left on the main board i should probably change as well soon.....i popped in a spare valve i had and used it on the gig last night for nearly a three hour set with no probs so fingers crossed.......
