I have 5 MIJ pedals (TW-1, OC-2, CE-2, DS-1, DM-2) in a BCB-6. I've always run them on batteries.
But I recently picked up the daisy chain power cable for a PSM-5 I had lying around here as well. Problem is, the PSM-5 uses a PSA adaptor...I'm sure you can already see where this is going: not enough juice.
Has anyone used the 1 Spot (http://www.visualsound.net/1spot.htm) or any other ACA replacement with a PSM-5?
Or any other suggestions? |

| The 1-Spot is supposed to be able to power up to 20 pedals at once, and works with any Boss pedal regardless of whether is ACA or PSA. |

it all depends on the current draw.
Just check out what each pedal uses, and if its over what the adaptor gives, you should get a new one.
TW-1: 6mA OC-2: 4mA CE-2: 9mA DS-1: 4mA DM-2:11mA
Total: 34mA
So you're well under the 200mA of a PSA adaptor. As soon as you go over, then you will start to have problems |

Look out when using switched supplies, like 1 Spot, they have a tendency to make a high pitched noise with expecially digital pedals, like delay. I coundnt use a switched supply (not 1 Spot) with my DD-20 it hissed so much I thought my amp was not working properly. This was bad news as DD-2 draws 200mA. |

Yes, it would appear that the total draw is under what the PSA supplies, but the TW-1 especially just drops dead (led lit, but only a tiny, scratchy squeal of sound) when I power the pedals with the PSA.
All of the pedals call for ACA, except the PSM-5, which is why I'm wondering if it is the source of the problem. Though it is MIJ from 1987, so it would seem to be made for powering the ACA pedals too, I dunno. |
