Hey Thanks Ssanyee!
Now here's the REAL question... I've been scouring about the net in search of the "paratrooper" mod for this guy. I've only read about how awesome it is...
Does ANYBODY have any idea on this particular mod? I'd like to see what they do, and compare it to my own mod of this pedal. |

| Never heard of that mod. My PQ-4 is pretty awesome stock. I cant see it being any better. What exactly is it supposed to do? |

Hi MervsMods,
You are welcome! Sorry but I did not hear about this modification. However, PQ-4 is good as it is I also would not recommend to you to modify it!
cheers |

| it's not a very common pedal, i mean it might be worth money in a few years.I would say look for a new pedal the does what you are looking for. and don't mod the PQ |

| I quieted down the background noise (hisssssssss), and firmed up the bottom end. (it got a bit too flabby) I Do have all the original parts, so if it needs to go back to stock, it's no issue at all. |

Hey Laurie,
Sure.. To be exact, I'll need to find my notes, and get back with you. But in a nutshell, I replaced (and changed values) some lower grade caps in the signal path, and shoved a Monte Allums opamp adapter in place of one of the in-lines with a Burr Brown OPLA (removed the hiss quite nicely), and swapped out the check LED and resitor with a Yellow one (much brighter)
NEXT PROJECT: Tackling an AC-2 and removing the background noise out of that one and tweaking the tone structure, making it a bit more usable. SMT doesn't scare me!!!

Ok so i decided to do a mod on it. Just changed the 1uf caps to metal film. Not really sure if it did much/anything BUT the PQ-4 is still sounding great. |
