There seems to be some discussion wheter this pedal exist or not. I have just got a PH-1r Silver screw in the mail from Japan with serial 9900 which should make it from october 1980 (first production month). Everything looks original and the bootom label sais "Use a coin.. ". So I think we could confirm that these do exist.
Yes, I have a PH-1r with the silver screw and I'm sure it's genuine as it too has serial #9900 stamped inside the battery compartment and the 'long-dash' logo.
There were definitely SS models of the PH-1r around, just not for very long.

A PH-1r SS on eBay had number 0400 stamped and it went for 107.50. I was interested in it but the proxy bidder got it.
I have noticed that on MOST ALL SS pedals the input and output jacks are flush with BOTH the pedal case AND the nut that holds it in place, on new pedals, the jack protrudes about 2.5mm out of the nut, showing the threads. I love it that the nut and the jack are flush on the older ones!!!! YOUR SD-1 pic illustrates this perfectly!
