I realize that one of these isn't "compact", but was wondering if anyone has ever done an objective/subjective comparison of these two choruses -- in other words, if you own a CE-2, would you get anything more out of a CE-1, in terms of the chorus effect?

(discounting that the CE-1 can do vibrato separately)

The CE-1 is also stereo.
The chorus sound I get from my Roland JC-120 (which has the CE-1 built in) is absolutely awesome and I've never managed to get that sound from my CE-2. I think that's mainly because the JC-120 is a stereo amp. Run in mono I suspect they will sound somewhat similar.

Forgot about the stereo; thanks for the reminder there.

From time to time I get tempted to track down a CE-1, but they're fetching somewhat dear prices on eBay now. And I seriously doubt that I'd ever go stereo with amplification, so perhaps the CE-2 is just fine for me.

I have been experimenting with combining it with my DC-3, to where I can set the CE-2 at lower settings to minimize the pitch bending, then add dimensioning to thicken the chorus. I could probably just stick with that approach.

Thanks much for the response...
