well they obviously opened it... and I could tell them that the pedal is wrapped in one of my socks.
also Laurie used the same box to ship it back to me and told me that the old postal service stickers are beneath the new ones....
so it was okay really... I just had to drive there and convince 'em in person.

Awesome!
If you get the chance, maybe post some photos of it with your rig?

hello all, resurrecting this old thread again but i figured this is the right thread. my od-1 had crackling noise again and after a really long examination of the pedal, i found two wires which most of the strands had already broken but its cover/shielding was intact. it took a while to find them. if you frequently open your pedal to mod on it, the hinge action when opening and closing of the pcb will break some wire strands.

update: if you read my post in the thread about getting a bd-2 because i wanted to retire the od-1, it was because it still had some cracking noise which came and went. i think i finally traced the fault to a cap which i substituted which was not soldered well, one of its legs didnt quite pass thru the pc board and partly soldered. so if the pedal was banged, the noise would come back again. i replaced it wit a cap with long legs and made sure ther was no more problem i dropped the pedal 3 times and tested it after each drop and finally no more cracking noise. that 27 year old od-1 is now back on the board as a slight od/boost. my signal then goes to the new sd-1 for mild to strong od and then to the ds-1 for distortion or to the hm-2 for heavy distortion. |
