| I might have missed it in my search, but is there a list somewhere that has serial number range and or date range for SS pedals? |

I do remember this post...
And I've reread it a couple of times now. SS changed when "4 digit ink stamped numbers changed to 6 digit stickers in the battery compartment"
So, is it true that EVERY 4-digit stamped serial number pedal should have a SS ??
Follow-up question - do ANY 6-digit pedals have SS?

I remeber I read somewhere that there are sd-1's with serial 0500 with both black and silver screws so it happened around that serialnumber I guess, but let bossarea help us out here |

| Everything indicates that the change of screw and serial number took place at the same time. There may still be some 0500 pedals with black screws and some 00xx00 pedals with silver screws but most of the time the theory holds water. I've found very few serial numbers in the range 00xx00 - 05xx00 so if we had a few more observation, I think we should be able to say for certaing whether the screw change was made at the same time the serial changed. |

OK... what's the verdict with this one I've seen locally:
- SP-1 serial 115300 (paper label) decodes to October 1981 - SS that looks original - it's been in there long enough for the rubber grommet to melt onto the threads with age... - Black label "use a coin"
Looked original to me, but am interested in opinions...

We need some serials from people with original black screw sp-1's till that time I say it's plausible |

| The latest SP-1 I've got in my serial number archive is 065000. It was on Ebay a while ago and had a black screw. We should really have more observations before we make any definitive conclusions. |

Hi Laurie & Guys
Congratulations... You finally found one.
Bossarea, with the paper label-6 digit numbers, is it possible to have two or more with the same serial, like with the 4 digit ink pad ones. That are more like batch numbers.
Regards Dr. Bob

I've added this one to the archive. Will be interesting to see if if other SP-1s with similar serial numbers have silver or black screw.
It is perfectly possible for pedals to have the same serial number. The 2 first digits tell us the month and the 2 last digits are (almost) always 00. The meaning of the middle digits are still unknown but if they denoted the true serial number, production would have been limited to 100 units per month. |

Yeah - I'm definitely of the opinion that it's genuine. I guess if there were more of these(!) it would be easier to build up the records!
How many do you have data for at the moment? |
