I got a picture from a friend for Christmas, we where at a Jimi Hendrix Concert in 1967 in Lund, Sweden.
We where very young at the time, but it was extremely impressing to see Jimi at work.
I thought I would share the picture with you.

WW Goran so freaking cool.

Please PM the Hi-Res version of this picture, I will link it into the forum.
I'm sure many people would love to see the full sized picture of this.

I very impressed,
Their setup looks so primitive, compared to later gig, 7 what we are accustomed to seeing/hearing now at concerts today.

I suppose we have to remember that for 1967, that was pretty High-Tech - & LOUD! I bet.

As you see there are no mikes on the drums and the PA was what looked like a Marshall head and two tiny speakers.
To my ears it was very load at the time, I was sitting just a few meters from the stage.
The concert was incredible good, the supporting band Hansson & Karlsson was also extremely good. I highly recommend downloading of records by Hansson & Karlsson, one of the best bands from Sweden ever. Very high prices on their original records, and for a good reason.

Great photo!! That looks like a University common room, or large living room. Must have made quite an impression on you.

Wow. that's awesome!

Sadly Hendrix was long dead before I was born, so obviously I never got to see him live You're a lucky chap Goran!

Great photo.

...i remember you mentioning in posts that you had seen Hendrix but this is amazing........it must of been very loud sitting a few meters away from a full marshall stack with Hendrix on the other end of the guitar lead and very inspiring afterwards...that was a great and very thoughtful christmas present from your friend....

Great picture...it does amaze me to look at that and see only vocal mics. Today bands go into the smallest clubs and mic everything(even the snare drum!) when it's really not necessary...this picture is a stark contrast to that.

I bet the Hendrix estate would love to see that photo, and would probably offer to buy rights to it...perhaps?

Hi Goran
Please tell us more about the night you saw Hendrix
Maybe some things like:

The Venue
The Month
How much you paid to get in.
Any memorable songs - riffs - tricks he did/played.
What the gig sounded like - was it loud.
Was there many people.
Any other memories you have of the night.

I noticed in the pic it looks like he's using a curly cord as well.

I have only met one other guy that saw Hendrix like
And he was an ex London-er that I used to work with.
he never really said much about it, he was more interested n Pink Floyd the other bands/players he was as well.

Hey Goran in the background on the right,
Is that another band waiting to play after Hendrix, or just some roadies/other fans?

Regards Dr. Bob

Great pic, great experience Goran.
It's cool how Jimi's wah and fuzz face just seem to lie around.

But is it me, or does Noel doesn't have a cord and an amp?

There is two 4X12's behind NR...i reckon the amp is on the ground,i think a lot of bass players back then did that possibly to stop the head falling from the vibration on the low notes...or maybe he couldn't reach it on top of the cabs...noel was only a little guy.....and he lived in Ireland for a good few years before he died,i knew a keyboard player/DJ that was a mate of his but never got to meet the man himself....

Lovely picture!! My dad had a similar experience when he was young. He saw AC/DC, with Iron Maiden as support act in a little club in Borgerhout. But the difference of course is that Hendrix isn't alive anymore. Oh, I really can't get my eyes off off that picture! Really great!!
