i'm using my PS-2 since 1990 until it ceased to work a few days back. I surf around for help and thank goodness to find this site.
My problem lies on a few wires inside the pedal which ripped off from its original soldered point.
Can anyone help me to figure out which wire goes where so that i won't fry that pedal.
The affected wires were BLACK,PURPLE,GREEN,ORANGE AND WHITE. I think those wires were for the input, output and tuner port of the pedal.
I would appreciate if anyone can help me to sort out the problem. i just can't play without it. Please help. THANK YOU.. |

No PS-2 and no schematic I'm afraid. |

I happen to have a PS-2 (although I'm somewhat reluctant to open up any pedal with a double-decker circuit board), and I'm pretty sure I can obtain access to a copy of the PS-2's service manual. work has kept me insanely busy lately, but I'll try to take a look this weekend. is there any chance you can post a picture of the inside of your pedal here, to get an idea of the scope of the problem? |

| I just sold mine, but it hasn't shipped out yet. Let me try to find a few minutes to open it up and get back to you. |

uzkezbalakh, sorry about the delay. I didn't open up my PS-2 (yet), but did look at an (incomplete) schematic. it does not mention wire color codes, but maybe the info below will help:
* input jack -- tip feeds terminal no. 19 on the analog board (which then feeds R1); sleeve is grounded to no. 18 on the analog board
* output jack -- tip originates from terminal no. 9 on the analog board (which in turn is fed by R27); sleeve is grounded (to the casing?)
* tuner out jack -- tip originates from terminal no. 1 on the ET board (fed by an op amp, type unknown, with C1, R1, and R2 on its output side); sleeve is grounded (to the casing?)
good luck! |

Hi guys, I also have the same wiring problems... Sir pawnshop, do you happen to know where terminals 2 and 3 (on the ET board) connects? as well as terminals 1, 2,3 and 4 on the analog board as well... the thing that remains unwired is the battery (+ and -), the LED (+, - and ground) and the switch (two terminals)... thanks in advance! |

Hi ssanyee & Guys
In the second picture, the wires are left to right, the resistor colour code.
0 Black 1 Brown 2 Red 3 Orange 5 Green 6 Blue 7 Violet and the rest are: 8 White 9 Grey - or Gray.
Don't know if any of this is interesting or useful? Might be worth remembering this if any other wires come off.
Regards Dr. Bob |
