This pedal seems to show that Dunlop are atleast trying to head forward. Some innovative features, but the overall design looks dreadfull if you ask me.

It looks like the throttle in Darth Vader's spaceship. |

"The pot is rated for 1 million cycles."
Does that mean it can go up n down 1mill times before its probably gonna die? |

Yep..i think thats what they mean alright... i'm a bit wary of the tuner out on any of the volume pedals out there after reading stinkfoots article about them .....i used to think about getting one for swells but i'm so long using the volume control on my guitar and my little finger to control it i don't think i could adapt .... |

Nail on the head for me, Volume knob on a tele is pretty much perfectly placed for swells. |

an advantage of a volume pedal is that you can put it after your distortion, etc and affect the volume without changing the tone. The volume knob on the guitar is going to change the change the dynamics of the distortion.
It may not particularly matter to the musician depending on their style etc, but they do have their place. |

| I have used the BOSS FV-50 whenever i need a volume pedal, but one day i want to get an earnier ball instead, i wouldn't mind this one i think that angle the main photo is made at just makes it look odd. The grip rubber looks great. The 1 million cycles means that after 1 million cycles there is a certain chance that the pot will die. Most commonly i believe that it is 50% that dies after the rated amount. ofcourse different companies use different definitions as to make their product look better. Though i would trust in Dunlop pots. |

The thing that I don't like about the Ernie Ball is that it uses a string. Have you ever seen the inside of one? It looks weak and there is no way it would stand up to the abuse this thing will take (or the FV-500 for that matter).
I wonder what that second knock out is for. I stereo version maybe? |

| Yes i don't like the string you hvae a good point with that. There is also a normal dunlop volume pedal if i remember correctly. The FV-500 is a bit too big imo. |

lol the FV500 is certainly big, but much like the rest of the boss pedals you could run it over with a tank and gig with it the same night. I have one and really like it. |

I have a FV-500 (I need the stereo capability)... It is huge but it's also indestructible. I also have an FV-50, which is smaller and a lot lighter but you just don't have the same huge contact area for your foot. It also feels a bit flimsy.
That Dunlop pedal doesn't really look futuristic to me. It looks like something from the Original series of Star Trek, where everything looks Retro-Futuristic (ie it would have looked futuristic in the 70's)...
I like the look of classic Dunlop Crybaby type pedal... |

It looks like Dunlop teamed up with Dunlop tires to make that tread. I'd sure like to see wht that Steel Band Drive (again Dunlop tires?)is like and I do like adjustable rocker tension. Nothing worse than a floppy treadle. |

It's about time Dunlop replaced the GCB-80 "High Gain" volume pedal..

long ago these were far eclipsed by the Ernie Ball pedals.
My question is.. is it made in the USA alongside the Crybabies, or in the undisclosed mfr. location of the rest of the MXR line (which no longer say anywhere "made in usa"). If the pedal is as sturdy as it appears to be, it might be really good. floppy treadle.. +1 bside2234 |

| I don't have a dedicated volume pedal, but this one looks Cool. I can attest to the quality of the current Dunlop goodies, they also market the current MXR line. Good shit!!! |
