Witch one of DSD-2 and DSD-3 is the most rare pedal? I have rather often seen DSD-2 for sale here in Sweden but just one or two of DSD-3. DSD-2 had a shorter time of production than DSD-3 (am I right here?) so DSD-2 should be rarer. But is it so??? My theory is that all who wanted a sampler bought DSD-2 and found out it was not so good for this due to the limited time, 0.8 seconds. So when DSD-3 came they didnt buy that as it was the same pedal. And few new buyers was interested when DSD-3 came, most of the interested had already bought DSD-2.
I am not sure about the answer to this question, but I will tell you that on Ebay at least, it is more rare to see a DSD-3. It seems that there is always a DSD-2 hanging around. Maybe the production numbers on the DSD-3 were smaller after they saw that the DSD-2's weren't selling that well anyway? I'm sure they monitor the sales of each new product pretty well and base future production runs off of them.
I think the DSD-2 is a bit more common than the DSD-3. It looks that way from monitoring Ebay auctions. The DSD-3 sold at a lower price than the DSD-2 so you'd think sales would be boosted but it doesn't look that way. You might be right that the limitations of the sampler turned customers away from it.
