What should I pay for one in excellent condition? I see about $90 which is what my local store lists it for. I think I have them down to $50 so I offered $40 which I think would be a steal.
I realize most believe the CE-2 is the shit but really.. how good IS the CE-3?
TIA |

CE-3 is usually much cheaper than CE-2 and its a damn good chorus. A bit different from each other, but some like CE-3 the most. I have seen prices around US $30 here in Sweden, so CE-3 is a hidden treasure.

i agree goran,
here in the uk, we can pick them up for 30, if you know where to look. and yes, both chorus pedals are vastly different, but both equally brilliant, in the right settings. :) |

i prefer it over the CE-2 because it has a stereo feature. plus the wet/dry mix feature is cool to mess with. its been known to be a little colder than a CE-2 but in a band situation i doubt its noticeable.
i wouldnt pay more than 75-80 for one. |

Hi Guys
Mine is sitting quietly in the storage case. waiting for another rainy day, or the longer rains of winter...
Perhaps we should post our favorite CE-3 settings?

Definitely an underrated pedal. Must admit I prefer the CE-2 but the CE-3 is half price in comparison and you can't go wrong with that. |

I like it as well although I keep finding that I'll probably never keep a chorus on my board. This is the second CE-3 I had too! It really is nice, but I'll probably end up shipping this one off too . I'll make it available if anyone is after one. |

I do find it a love/ leave it chorus - if you've got "the other ones"...I suppose it is a good deal and if you can get one on the cheap you've got nothing to lose...but I had a CE-2, an analog CE-5 I liked because you get actually get a lower-end and "thick" chorus from that...not to be condescenindg, but perhaps the idea of "poor man's CE-2" does work...
On a similar thread...what about which chorus excels in a clean/ quiet vein vs. driven/ distorted - that could be a different thing altogether, no? |

A two-amp setup is the key.
Given that, they the 2 and 3 achieve really different things.
I see some for sale for $75ish, but I think that's a little high unless it's early and in nice condition (box/manual is a different story).

The DC-3 is really good for both clean and distorted sounds being totally digital, it comes off different than standard chorus pedals |
